A Family With a Passion for Rearing Loving Dutch Bouviers
At Dutch Bouviers, we breed dogs that make wonderful family members and reliable service dogs. Our family cares about our puppies and takes a hands-on approach to raising them.
For almost 20 years, we have placed Dutch Bouvier puppies in loving homes from coast to coast.
Our History and Inspiration
Dutch Kennels was founded by Fran and Henry Siegel in December 2001, but our love of Dutch Bouviers began 30 years ago with Fran’s first Bouvier, Eli.
He was a large, striking black dog from the Abadi Kennels, whose intelligence led him to a life as a Guide dog for the Blind. Eli went through Guiding Eyes for the Blind’s training program successfully and was eventually paired with his new owner.
The time Fran spent with Eli convinced her that the breed would be her perfect companion. 16 years later, her children, Nadja and Jake, convinced their mother they were old and responsible enough for a dog, and Ari came into their lives.
He was a loving, curly-haired puppy who soon took up residence on Nadja’s bed and snuggled beside her through her high school years. Ari grew from a six lb. pup to a 100-lb lap dog.
He was an affectionate and intelligent Bouvier who delighted in receiving attention and was adored by all who met him. Ari showed our family and friends that being a big boy didn’t prevent him from being a great lap dog.
Sadly, we lost Ari in the summer of 2003, but not before the birth of Dutch Kennels.
Sharing the Joy of Living With our Bouviers
Eli and Ari had done so much for us that we wanted to ensure the breed would continue as strong, healthy, and intelligent examples.
Nadja’s love for Bouviers led her to become a veterinarian, which has been instrumental in establishing the Dutch Kennel line of dogs. She also assists her mother in the birth and rearing of our new puppies.
